Synopsis

Synopsis

What approach can one take today to a museum built over a century ago to serve
colonial propaganda? In Tervuren, near Brussels, after 5 years of renovation, the Africa
Museum has reopened its doors, offering new forms of exhibition. There, we meet
groups of visitors in discussion with their guide or individuals wandering around
freely on their own. Together, they draw the outlines of a place where, despite the new
narratives, the past doesn’t seem to be past.
